Camry 06-brake pulsation at light pedal pressure

I have a '06 Camry with 120K on it. When I brake at certain speeds (around 60km/h) and with light pedal pressure, the brake pedal pulses kinda like the abs is coming on. The rotors are new, so this can not be warped rotors.

I have read somewhere that it can be abs sensors.

Thanks!

Sound like you purchased warped rotors. It has happened to me.

I purchased Brembo OEM rotos (thinking it was good quality... HA). Had my mechanic install them with expensive ceramic pads. Fist day of usage I noticed what you have noticed. I new right away that the rotors were warped. I WAS PISSED!!!
I called Brembo and wanted new unwarped ones and they asked me if my mechanic tested the rotors before he installed them... I said no, they claimed that my mechanic must of done the install incorrectly, he is about 50 years old and is master mechanic... he installed my engine and has done hundreds of brake jobs. They then informed me because I used them... I could not return them for new ones and I voided the guarantee the moment they were installed.

I lived with the the problem, car shook when I braked at high speeds such as 55-90mph, definately noticed a pulsation with the brake pedal. Drove my car for about 60Kmiles with the problem and I just sold the car about two weeks ago and now it's someone else's problem.

This is what you can do.
(1) Live with it.
(2) If you purchased everything from a garage, demand they fix it for you!!! And don't wait to long or they will deny that they sold you a defective rotor
(3) Pay to have your rotors resurfaced. I know Canadia Tires will resurface your rotors FOR FREE at least they did in the day, but you still need to take them off and bring it to them.

Good Luck

Thanks for sharing your information.

I guess your are right. I purchased this car from a dealer a month ago. he was supposed to fix the brake problem by changing the rotors, but I guess he used a low quality one to minimize the fixing cost.

I should ask him to fix it or live with it as you said ;-)

Thanks

If he agreed to fix this problem when you purchased the car, take the car back to him and ask him to do it until the car is right. You probably should have asked him to fix this before you took delivery of the car and test drove the car again before signing the papers. Now you have to try to get this dealer to do the job correctly. Was this a Toyota dealer and was this a Toyota certified used car?

Thanks for your post.
No I bought it from a private dealer. Once I test drove the car there was a major and obvious problem with the brakes that was mentioned in the bill of sale to be fixed. When I took delivery of the car, I didn't take the car to a highway for test drive. That's why I didn't noticed that the installed rotors are warped.
BTW, I talk to the dealer today. He checked whether the rotors are under warranty and fortunatly they are. He agreed to replace them with a new pair and return defective ones to the part supplier.

Sounds like you are dealing with an honest dealer. I would get the car to him as soon as possible and have this taken care of.
