How does that work? I have been thinking about getting this---- http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16921

And this---- http://www.appbrain.com/app/torque/org.prowl.torque

To plug into my Moto Droid and run in my 2009 i4 Camry.

Has anyone done that before? They said the software that comes with the dongle is infected and to get other software to interface with it I am assuming the Torque would do it. Any suggestions for the laptop version?
Can you adjust the trims with this or just watch? I was thinking of trying to squeeze out a little more mpg.

Anyway. Any advice would be great

Got this finally the other day. I just hooked it up to all three vehicles and bam works like a champ

It shows all kinds of data and you can check codes and clear them. It just replaced my $150 scan tool I bought a few years ago. If it is still working in a few months I will sell the other.

It shows all the sensor data fuel trim, maf, load, and many others I don't quite know how to use it all yet.

I'll see what I can do I think I will buy the pro version of the Torque app it has more functions. I am not sure what you use to control the stereo I will have to look into it. I have already cleared codes on two vehicles and hooked it up on four different ones. So far all good

Here is a Video of the app and a Dongle someone else made. He is using the free version. The paid is worth it. It streamlines things and allows you to log the data and see a graph and gps log. I have the dongle that I linked too before straight from china.

The developer of the app is very impressed with the "wicked quick" updating the Toyota ecu's push out to the dongle.
The controlling of the Stereo that I have seen on youtube was done by interfacing to a different in car network as near as I can tell. I don't think this alone will do that as cool as that would be.

Do you have a list of toyota PIDs, along with their hex ids, ranges, units and equations. I have the scan tool for my Epic 4g and it connects and reads alot of the functions of the car, but not all are accurate. I have been up and down google looking for them. Nothing..

i just barffed in my mouth a bit. Iphone, ick. LOL. I haven't heard if it works or not, it looks like you may have to buy their obdII adapter.

What I do like about DashCommand it looks as if it will support Enhanced OBDII, which is what toyota uses. Like I said it works for some of the standards, but not all of toyotas enhanced features.

Joe

The closest I came to something like that was from a help forum in another scan tool manufactures website. I can't for the life of me remember who or where though
