Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was getting exhaust work done at a local exhaust shop I've worked with before. As I watched him remove some old welds, he lost control of the blowtorch and flamed my bumper.
Luckily, it was just the paint. He did not charge me for parts or labor for the work I was getting done and offered to get it fixed for free by his painter.. Note, this is the shop that put a hole in an underpanel and now has torched my bumper. I said no thanks, and demanded compensation so I can get it painted elsewhere.
Figured you guys would enjoy some of my misfortune! I am thinking about painting this myself. Sand it down, hit it with some touchup, and clear coat it.
Thoughts?

Damn man u wasted so much money, hole, and now this... Should've used all that money n get the TRD, 100% street legal, no neighbor complains.
You don't have TRD lol..
so in the end what did you end up getting as "compensation" from them?
btw I plan on .. I think..I plan on repainting my front lip myself..but it's a lot of trouble. me and my friend spent 2 afternoons on it last year..and then that same friend spun out in the mountains while I was snowboarding (I dont blame him..icy road + no chains..even though 20mph)
I plan to do it myself since I end finals week on tuesday, if anything..
I am content with not having a hole in my bumper. Painting it is no big deal.
My exhaust pipes are butchered at this point. So many welds and cut-outs. Which gives me an excuse to blow money on a TRD cat-back. But for now, my magnaflow is up for sale with the tip, and my stock everything is back on the car. It's so peaceful!

Pocket money, really. The free work would have covered the paint needed.
I plan on sanding the area down and blending in some white, and clear-coating. No damage to the plastic. Wouldn't primer be very easy to over-spray?
Wow maybe you should've just got them to repaint it.

You can fix that yourself. Sand> primer> color> clear.
Your paint will mismatch though.
You'd have to sand the whole area...I must say it will be difficult for you because I did it to my front lip and it was a b*tch.
yes wrapping paper was to cover the foglights :p and cover the areas I didnt need to paint

looks like you need bondo though or primer.
check paintscratch.com they have all u need
That's right, I don't have TRD. But 11LE's been through so much to end up like this plus the neighbor complains, etc. Might as well get TRD from the start.

At least the work was free and he compensated you for the damage.
