5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
My OEM rims were damaged, at 6 months and 3 days of ownership......
The coating is flaking around the center hole all the way to the base metal, and were chipped around the lug bolt holes to the base metal during a required maintenance service trip.
Will a repair be a long term solution?
Or, should I replace them?

It shouldn't be doing that 6 months into ownership. Talk to the dealer. Manufacturing defect?

They are covered under the 3 yr/36K mile warranty. After you have them replaced/fixed, the warranty will remain 3yrs/36K miles (from original purchase date). I had one of mine replaced after two years for this same thing. I'm sad to see the other three now showing the same problem- but now my car has 54K miles on it, so it is no longer covered under warranty.

Good Luck.
Dealer damage Plus the chipping at the hub. The service Manager said "repair" in the last email.

Silver, Chrome and Black look. I would prefer to maintain that look.
Also:
Should I let them (the dealer that did the damage) do the repair?
About how long will / should it take to repair the rims?
Then, what is the warranty on the rims, after the repairs?
Would Toyota call it a "modified rim" and void the warranty?
Photos have been added on the first post!
Thanks to all, for your replies and help.

You should get them repaired I guess but those kind of blemishes are pretty minor and you know you'll get a lot more from road debris as time goes on heh.
