Odd radiator hose issue...

A few months ago I replaced both radiator hoses on our '04 Camry, 3.0L V6. I have yet to get the upper radiator hose to stop slowly dripping coolant at the radiator side. I took my time, lightly sanded the hose and radiator fitting so the hose would have a good grip, but it still had a few drops escaping every time we drive it. Today I popped the hood and found that the hose had slipped back at each end, about 1/4", but the clamps are tight.

Has anyone seen this? Is it because the radiator fitting is plastic? I used Dayco hoses from Advance Auto, and stainless worm-drive clamps.

Likely comes close to fitting but not quite. Go to Tpyota and get the right one.

^What gdanaher said; also, the OEM spring clamps compensate for expansion and contraction. The worm type don't.

Does anyone know the Toyota part number for radiator hose clamps? I just ordered a Toyota upper hose, but they wanted $30 each for the clamps.

BTW, tried everything i could but it looks like the Dayco hose from Advance Auto is crap. That's a first for me.

I finally got some time to install OEM radiator hoses and thermostat last night. I can not express how much better the OEM hoses fit! They have a more rigid build and fit much tighter on the radiator fittings. Thanks for the tip guys, I'll be buying OEM parts more in the future.

Now you've got the idea. You don't suppose those clever toyota engineers planned this somehow? Nah....can't be!
