Hi TN, i have a 2009 Toyota Camry SE 4 banger, and the rear deck of my car rattles at random, even on not so bumpy roads it rattles. I wanna know if its possible to remove the deck and put some dynamat around the edges to stop the rattle. Basically a diy to remove the rear deck.(Mind you its the SE, and its not as simple as the LE or the XLE) Thanks

I have the same car, but a 2010 and never had that rattle but lot's of others, this week coming I am taking it back in, they will be changing the center console among other things to help with the rattles. Just bad design for use of plastics to me. I work with some fellows that have the non SE model and they seam ok. Guess the harder suspension is an issue.
I know the issues about dealers but while under warranty I am trying to stick with them.
An mine is a real gem on my 3rd oil change (I have them using mobile 1) The left over bottle of oil was not in the trunk. I went to the service clerk and he told me none was left because the engine was hot and it took it all. I know they just filled it with bulk. I said nothing to him but Toyota Canada sure got an ear full about that lie.
An a very quick call back from the service manager. An a very fast free oil change.
I am dynamating the back and doors and dashboard ..
can you tell how dashboard attached to firewall? metal clips? how did you removed it?
I want to remove dash too and sound proof fire wall, I got diagram how to remove dash, but can't figure out how it attached to firewall.

use B-quiet, it cheaper, lighter and more effective.
I used dynamat before-great staff, but used b-quiet on 2007 camry-like it better.
another thing, put packing foam between deck and metal panel-will stop vibration for sure.

what do you mean by sound proofing the firewall? what is the firewall exactly?
I want to insulated -put sound deadener on it.
It's a wall between engine compartment and cabin.
bottom of the wall/floor can be reached from under the dashboard, to get to the top- need to remove dash.

so you can't hear the engine as much when you're driving or accelerating?
Don't ask brother this is over the top. When they get this fantic they should just take insulation foam in a can and spray from outside everywhere. As on the outside of the firewall and other places like under car as well.
I find my Camry quiet except the rattles. Tires give most noise.

Haha... noise suppression is pointless when you can hear any sort of exhaust noise lol.
I had Michelins that were loooud tires, but now my Yokos don't make a peep.
All I hear is my exhaust so sound deadening would be completely useless for me.

yep, I'm converting Camry to a Lexus LS (emblems and engine stays ) but I want quietness. even stock radio with 6x9 pioneers sounds much different now, no need for expensive unit.
more pleasureful to drive it too.
I got rough tires, tread wear index 700! they don't bother me at all, noise doesn't go to cabin.

oh that's quite interesting. i have to look into doing that one day. i do prefer the more quiet sound. which is one of the reasons i opted for a v4 instead of a v6. if you have any pics or anymore info please post when you get a chance. i'll save this for some later time lol.
I had weird rattling and knocking noises from the rear of my car. Finally with the my mechanic, we determined that it was the rear stabilizer bar bushing that needed replacing. Problem solved.
But yeah, various parts of the interior DO rattle such as the front dash near the speakers.
