5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
my USB port is not charging my cell phone, 2010 camry LE.. the USB port is at front center storage, under the radio/ac controls..
since it's so deep under there, is it a simple job to get it fixed? I'd rather live with it than having the dealer taking a lot of stuff apart to get to it?
so u dont want the dealer to work on it bc they take it apart?
i don't use it much, i can charge my phone/mp3 through my aux power.. so if it's a 3-4 hour job i'd rather they leave it alone.. I'm worried something else might be loose/rattling after they are done fixing the USB.. ha

the dealer should take care of it fast. make appointment and get it done. if something loose or rattle then make them fix it bc it under warranty.
There is a USB charger in the 2010 camry? Or is it un/underpowered USB port? Has it ever charged your device before? What kind of phone do you have, how much mAh does it pull when charging typically?
My question is does that USB port supply power out, and if so how much? 500mAh or 1000mAh? If it does supply power and its less than whatever he is trying to charge, that could be the reason why its not working.
^It should work regardless. The USB port is there for USB sticks, iPods, and other MP3 devices. If it can't supply enough power for those than what's the point in having one there?
Just my 2 cents

it worked for a while charging my phone or mp3, then it stopped working.. i have the xm radio and bluetooth, the USB came with one of the options. i think otherwise 2010 camry don't come with it standard.
The USB port is at an awkward position deep in the storage compartment and next to a audio input, just a poor design/after thought. the 2011 has it in a much better location i think.
it feels the newer camrys are just not as good quality wise as the toyotas 10 years ago..

2011's are in the same location as 2010's
