Tire Pressure Sensors

Hello all, In the past week and a half my tire pressure sensor keeps lighting up. I brought it up to a co-worker and he said every winter his wife's 2007 Camry has the same issue with the sensor lighting up. does anyone else have this issue?

I have been checking the pressure and it does seem to be changing but is this something that just happens in cold weather and I am safe to ignore it?

input? thoughts?

Thanks

No, it's just your tires are losing pressure

Cold weather makes the tire pressure drop. Adjust yours to the recommended pressure and the light goes away.

Magic!

Right. But it gets annoying going to the gas station every day.

Well... my post was partially in jest. I realize you are checking them. Are you checking the spare? Not sure if yours has a sensor in the spare but many vehicles now do. If you air up to specified pressure and are having to go back, it's entirely possible that there is an issue with the TPMS system. If the light is coming on when you are sure the pressures are OK, then you might have a bad sensor.

Might wanna run it by Toyota for a check.

That usually means you have a nail in your tire

Good chance spare as stated. These sensors are so stupid. Should be a gauge on dash showing all 5 tires pressure would of been so easy. An the fact you have to go to the dealer to calibrate new sensors at a price is agrivating.

Unless you actually have a leak and see the pressure drop on one of the 4 driving tires then clearly a leak.

There is no sensor in the spare and this TPMS question has been discussed in detail many times in the last 4 1/2 years.......
