Timing chain or belt?

I am a first time Camry owner.....have an '07 LE with 27K miles. Does this engine have a timing chain or does it have a belt? And at what mileage should it be replaced?

All 3 engine flavors available in the current gen Camry use a chain.

Both the 2.4 and 3.5 use chains. Toyota has no recommended replacement interval. There are very rare instances of a chain guide wearing or a chain stretching causing noise. In anything close to normal use problems with chains are just not a concern.

^ As said above, Toyota now uses timing chains. There is no recommended service interval for chains since they are expected to last the life of the engine.

Does the 2003 4 cylinder have a chain also? From what I've read it does, but I want to be sure. I searched and I know the gen 6 does but I want to verify the gen 5 does as well. There is no listing in the gates manual for the 4 cylinder so I assume it doesn't use a belt.

The 2AZ-FE, 2AR-FE, and 2GR-FE all use a chain. In the gen 5 the only 2 engines that use a belt are the 1MZ-FE and the 3MZ-FE
