Shorted wire, no power, fuses are fine.

Long story short, was adding a few things to my remote starter unit in the 5th gen, accidently shorted a wire. The main +12v constant on the ignition harness.

Now the car wont start, anything that is powered off the +12v in the ignition harness has no power, no ignition, no accessory. All the fuses are fine and ARENT blown but the few ignition ones dont recieve power. So the fuses dont recieve power but they arent blown. Checked the fuses under the dash and hood ...

any ideas? or any other fuses that are hidden?
This is driving me nuts. The car is immobile now

Thanks for any help, happy holidays and stay safe.

Is there power at the battery? If so, then you may have burned through a wire and it may be hidden in the harness. You might have to do a continuity check on the wires in the harness.

same thing happened to me once, but i shorted out the alternator fuse. car was basically dead, nothing worked. what a pain to replace that one! dealership was closed, and i had to go to 4 different stores across 3 different towns to find it. then I had to take apart the fusebox to even get to that fuse...

you had an easy lesson, I had to learn the hard way

always remove power to the car whenever working on electrical systems!
