2004 camry bird chirping whining noise rpm related

Ok guys I JUST purchased a silver 2004 camry manual transmission 4 cyl. It has 97000 miles on it and looks and runs so awesome, its the most newest looking/condition car Ive ever owned. Its pretty fast too.

Now when I test drove it, I didnt notice a whining chirping noise but now after having it for 3 days I notice it. If your windows are up- you wont hear it. Rolled down and driving next to a any wall makes it very noticable. The noise sounds like a little bird hanging out in my engine, and when I first push the thottle in any gear, itll chirp just for a half second.. It lalso chirps later on it the throttle range at about 2500 rpms thenll go away. This chirp is in every gear and sometimes it chirps longer that usual.
No vibration or roughness I can feel, just chirping sounds I can HEAR.

I have researched this freegin noise issue and so far no one has found out the problem. I also had a SIMILAR squeeking noise that occured everytime I pressed the clutch, but wd40 solved that. I sprayed the part that pivots at the trannsmission. I dont know the proper part name, but following the clutch cable towards trans, it is not the first pivoting point which the END of the clutch cable is pinned too, but the second pivoting point that I sprayed.

I love the car but the noise is bothering me esp for the price I paid. Is there a solution or will this have to be an unsloved mystery? I don't think so, cuz I wont stop till I figure it out!!!!!! And when I do Ill share it with this forum.

Its a whining noise that is similar to a littull behd chirping away. Hi pitched and not really a whine but a chirp...

This is war man I swear.

I also have 3000 something miles left on the powertrain warranty.

glazed over fan belt of serpentine belt.....with the engine at idle, spray a tiny bit of wd-40 on the belts. one at a time to pinpoint which belt is chirping.

No WD40 needed....just water from a hose or spray bottle.

Yes, if the sound is noticeable in the engine compartment, you should pop your hood up and listen to your enemy.

Locate all belts and pulleys, and then spray the pulleys one after the other with water until you spot the bird.

Hey brothers, how was christmas?
I am confused, are you guys messing around or what? This whine occurs while the vehicle is in motion, always at the beginning of the every new gear after shifting and releasing the clutch, and sometimes more right before shifting into the next gear. It is happening at the same rpm I think.

How would water on the belts while engine is idling help me troubleshoot?

THANKYOU

Could be the motor or transmission rocking on noisy mounts.

Chirp could also be the front suspension doing the same. Bushings!

Make sure all the fluids are topped off, including the transmission.

Or, could it be a slipping clutch that chirps just as it locks up.

Make sure the exhaust is tight and not moving around.

ok tried it out.

I tried the water thing at idle, never made a sound. The belt is in GRREEEAAAAAT condition. Even took it around the block to see if the water made a difference, NOPE.

I learned something else, this noise will occur in neutral also with the car parked, just have to kinda finesse it and itll whine when you rev it up to around 3500 rpm. IT WILL ONLY WHINE THIS WAY ON THE FIRST PEDAL PRESS. I MEAN TO SAY, I TRIED TO GET IT TO WHINE CONTINUOUSLY AND I DONT THINK ITS POSSIBLE. It is easier to make it whine when the car is in motion though.

Im starting to think its a bearing that is starting to go bad. Cant be wheel bearing cuz I can make it whine in neutra with car not moving! Maybe idler bearing? What other bearings might be bad?

The engine is sweeet, no leaks, it looked new when I first looked at it. After the 3 day rain however driving it on the wet streets really made engine area not so new looking.. Wish I didnt do that.

Is there a way to use a dial indicator on a magnetic base to see if any of the pulleys have bad bearings?

I am googled at this noise, Im puzzled. I must know what it is!

ALSO, wish I had a repair book for my camry. I cannot locate where the manual transmission fluid goes, How do I check it, maybe its low???

THANKS AGAIN!

AC cycling?

Make sure the defrost is off and AC is off. ANY defrost settings will automatically cycle the AC.

Crank the wheel all the way left and right to see if its the PS related.

If the belt has more than 50k miles, replace it. I also recommend the Toyota belt.

You could ask a friend to locate the noise in the engine compartment while you make it whine in neutral

Did you ever find out the problem?

I think I have the same problem. When I press the throttle, it chirps for a split second. I was thinking maybe it was the butterfly valve in the throttle body but it seems too loud to be that. Almost every time I press the accelerator, it chirps whether in neutral or in gear. My car is an 05 4cyl AUTO

To the original poster(with manual transmission). It's possible that your noises could be coming from the clutch, pressure plate, or release/throw-out bearing.
