Two Oxygen Sensors Gone Bad?

Hey guys,

Im a new member with a 2007 Camry XLE 4cyl. The car recently threw two codes at the same time and its confusing me as to which sensor has gone bad. It is early for this to happen as I am at around 38k miles, but Ive seen it before.

The codes are as follows:

P0138 - O2 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank1, Sensor2)
P2195 - O2 sensor stuck lean (Bank 1, sensor 1)

My question is whether one bad sensor has triggered the other and if so, which is really the one that needs to be replaced?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Edit:

Just something I wanted to add before I start replacing sensors.

I found a thread where the OP experienced a similar issue and it seems as though the A/F sensor caused the post cat sensor code. The fix seemed to be the replacement of the primary sensor.

However, there is also info that the manifold itself was not seating properly which seems unlikey but perhaps someone has info on this as well?

Thanks

If you had done a Search you would have found a TSB-0074-08 on this MIL condition that applies if your Camry was made before the assembly line change.

It no longer applies (under warranty) since you are outside the age/mileage limit.

It involves changing the AF sensors to an updated part number.

TSB-0074-08 - 5/27/08 - MIL ON DTC P2195, P0138, P0171, or P0031

What is your VIN? PZEV engine?

NJ uses Calif spec, so maybe the car is PZEV? In Calif the sensors have 15-year/150K-miles warranty. But even if your have a Calif spec car in NJ, the warranty may not apply in NJ. Check your warranty or with Toyota helpline.

The TSB reads:

For California specification vehicles sold, registered, and operated in California, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island, this repair is covered under the California Emission Warranty, which is 36 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
