5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
well out of nowhere today my check engine light along with my vsc and traction control light came on. I used my friends scanner and it pulled a code of P2197 which i looked up and it says that it is the A/F sensor (oxygen sensor im guessing). It also says that its stuck lean bank 2, sensor 1. Now im guessing this is covered under the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty? ( 3 years for me is in october and i only have 20,900 on my car). Do you guys think that if i have a k&n intake they will say that is the cause of it? If so im going to have to take it out and put the stock air box back in so they can make the repair. Heres the link i found. http://www.ricksfreeautorepairadvice...ank-2-sensor-1
Thanks for all your much appreciated advice and help guys

I'd take the intake out just to be safe. They can argue that the intake is takeing in too much air causing the O2 to fail. You'd be supprised the things that these stealers come up with.

OK i never said that i think like that. But when i took my car in for the lean bank 1 bank 2 thats what they said to me. I was just informing the OP to eliminate any variables so his dealer doesn't try to cheat him out of his warranty service. Don't post on other peoples threads if your just going to be a smart ass

anybody know if an alignment is covered under warranty? and i wanted to know if one of the tsb's applied to my car for the enhancing shifting performance because i would get both of those done this saturday. For the tsb do they go by the vin number on the car? its an 09 btw

You have to ask them about those 2 but I'm pretty sure alignment isn't part of the warranty, maybe when the car is still under 5K miles, they might do it for free.
yea ill probably just end up taking it to my guy and letting him do the alignment for half the price...but i would still like to see if the tsb for shifting performance applies to my car

well now my car is really not running...pulling a p0300 code which is a misfire, im getting it towed to the dealer in the morning and praying that they cover all this under warranty

Damn that sucks!! Can it really be the intake causing this?
Highly unlikely, but it could be remotely related, so anything related should remain stock. If your transmission was slipping you could go in with a cai and nothing would be said.
