Hi, I have found a deal on an oem toyota camry 2007-2009 oem JBL navigation unit new in box. I just bought a 2011 camry with the JBL system. Does anyone know if this unit will work in my car? I have compared the rear panel connectors from pics on ebay and it appears there are two more female connectors in the rear panel of the 2011 model. I would love some insight from someone who knows or has had an experience putting the older unit in the new models. There are tons of aftermarket oem look a likes, but I dont trust them. I bought one for an audi and though it looks awesome and functions, it was sluggish and slow. I want to keep the oem if possible. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
Just in case it matters, I bought the SE model with the JBL unit and the bluetooth controls on the steering wheel, voice activation also. I really like the system, just want built in GPS, however I have been considering getting an autodimming mirror since mine didnt come with one, and I understand some of those have gps built in them..but it would be REALLY nice to get oem navi unit that would function normal with my bluetooth controls
Well I am currently on hold right now with DENSO in California. This is the Navigation department where I am told I will get my answers. The 2007-2010 have same part number and 2011 has its own part number. I was told by local Toyota dealer, either part number will work in the year 2010. I find that difficult to believe, so I called Denso myself. According to the back panel connectors, the 2011 has two more connectors. I do not have a description of them but I want to know for sure if I can make the older part number unit work in my 2011 before I buy it. If anyone has any previous experience with this, please chime in. I have searched the forums and find no particular info that helps me.
Well, turns out Denso will only talk to my current dealer so they are calling them to discuss the differences..hopefully I will have this figured out in the next few minutes..dang! If i just had the wiring diagrams to both I could figure it out myself.

I got the diagrams..VERY close, a few tiny differences which shouldn't interfere with the operation. The main differences I see is EXTRA things on the 2010 and 2011 models that were not offered on the 2007-2009 so if you use one of these older units in the later models it should still work to its maximum capabilities. However, if you tried to use the 2011 in the older models, I believe you would have a problem.

The GEN6 manual is not correct as I have pointed out when I changed my JBL to OEM NAV.
