TOYOTA CAMRY/CAMRY HYBRID 2007-2011 Head Unit Removal Guide

I have been searching all over the web for something like this. I just bought a nav/dvd unit for my 2011 Camry SE and I needed instructions on how to do this. I just wanted to share a finding.

Hope This Helps People

Yeah I just installed a dvd/nav unit like 20 minutes ago and this guide really helped. I only had a problem with the vent. I didn't know how hard to pull. But it really does just pop out.

Did you just grab it by the fins? I don't want to break anything.

What NAV unit did you put in? I'm shopping, and debating between a name-brand unit (Kenwood, Pioneer, etc) with the DDIN kit, or finding a factory look device. Looking to find out what others are putting in their cars.

Not sure if this will work with the camry but in my accord it was similar and I had to remove the top vent part which was HARD to get out, I ended up using 2 "S" hooks, and hooking the vent from the inside and pulling out. Take a look and see if there is any where the "S" hook can hook onto, might be easier if there is, and you wont damage your dash prying on it or the vent it self.

Not promoting any company but I took alfaottoparts up on their deal with the navi and reverse camera and purchased that one for 449. It is pretty nice. It looks factory. I like the fact while driving I can play music videos. The best feature about it is the "pip." While driving having the radio on screen and the Navi on the others side of the screen.

The vent was hard but I used a flat head screw driver wrapped it in cloth and pried it out. taking out the vent is necessary due to the two bolts under the vents.

I'll post some pics of the unit tonight.
