Canada 2007 Camry LE Silver Right Side Mirror Broke

Hi,

I have a 2007 Camry, LE, Silver, Right side (passenger) mirror that broke. Its electronically controlled but i don't think its heated (not sure tho)- it looks like only the mirror and the cover broke, so i have acouple q's:

1- do i need to replace the whole mirror or can i just get the mirror and cover? Dealer said i have to replace the whole part b/c it comes as awhole...

2- the dealer quoted me for $230 for part and $110 for labour. A mechanic quoted me for $230 for part (and said it was a good deal after simply contacting a dealer) and $50 for labour. Is the part really $230? I havn't been able to find the actual part but i see 2009 camry mirrors going for $45?

3- should i attempt at installing it and save myself the labour costs? Is it really simply and comes with a manual?

4- what is a possible quick fix? the cover and the mirror are still intact (mirror is just fractured and cover just has cracks/small broke pieces) so i was thinking of just gluing the cover to the door where it sits as a quick fix?

5- can someone link me to possible places where i can find my exact part? My last 8 digits for vin are: 7U023786, vin starts with 4T1BE.

Thanks a ton! Really needs this fixed asap and im a student so, not much on budget.

You can have mine for free if you drive down to Boston.

Installing involves taking off your door panel but wiring should be plug and play.

A shop shouldn't charge you too much.

Thanks MJZ for the offer but its too long a drive.

Here are some pics;

Damage:

From the looks of it, the inside is still intact

I attempted to place it together, it holds but i'd need to glue it to keep it firm;

Also, i looked around on ebay, but i found all of the mirrors to be black, where would i go to get it painted and how much would that cost?

1. You do NOT need to remove the door panel..

2. It is a 5 minute job to remove and replace. Pop of the cover on the inside of the door, 3 bolts, unhook wiring connector and revers.

3. You can buy just the mirror, but you need an assembly.

4. You need to know the following when ordering: Heated or non-heated, make sure it is for a US built Camry, right paint code (if you order a painted one).

5. Part number for a US built, unheated one with 1D4 paint code is 87910-06190-B0.........Heated with same specs is 87910-06200-B0.

6. The 1st part number is $117.02 + shipping and the 2nd is $137.45 + shipping from a discount Toyota parts dealer, http://toyotapartspeople.com/

Try a auto scarp yard, take the mirror assembly off and put it on yours.
I did it once for my Camry 94 for $20. Got it off a Camry 96.
