2011 Camry SE Valentine One + Concealed Display Hardwired
Hey guys, im a newbie here, i got my 2011 Camry SE about 5 months ago as a birthday present, i just got around to joining the forum, i hard wired my Valentine One Radar with the concealed display, so i thought i'd show you guys and get some feedback. I mounted it on the visor because im waiting for my windshield mount to come in! Thanks!
Heres the process:
Step 1: pull out the weather strip so you can take out the drivers side kick panel and loosen the driverside front piller
Step 2: after you take the kick panel off by unscrewing the big plastic nut and find a key on only power wire using a test light or powerprobe, then splice the positive wire of your hard wiring kit and connect it to the positive key on power wire, after that find a nut or screw connected to a good ground and put your ground wire of your hardwire kit and tighten it down.
Step 3: I wanted to mount my concealed display on my steering column cause one it looks pretty sick and its pretty well hidden and easy to see. so i had to feed the phone cord power line from the slit in the steering column down to by the housing of the fuse box because thats where i velcro-ed the Main & Accessory connector/splitter which is connect to positive and ground from step 2
I ran it down to by the fuse box and zip tied the extra phone cord to a wiring harness so it doesnt move around
Heres the Main/Accessory Spliter velcro-ed to the fuse box housing and connected to the concealed display
From there i ran the the other phone cord from the main/accessory splitter through the kick panel, up the front drivers side piller shown in the picture below and then above the headliner under the winshield(no one can see) and then to the valentine.
after that i made sure after they were connected in the correct spots on the main/accessory spiltter i made sure they worked before i put everything together.
Welcome to the forums. That's a great looking install! Very clean and professional. Personally, I'd wrap the wire that leads to the concealed display in black electrical tape or sleeving, as the white stands out a bit too much against the dashboard colour in my opinion. The actual install looks excellent however . Bravo

Nice! Bet it looks perfect now . I noticed you said that you're waiting for your windshield mount to arrive. Are you getting the original plastic one or one made of metal? The only downside I've found with my Valentine One is that the original plastic mounting bracket is too weak and breaks quite easily (especially once the sun has gotten to it). I've been thinking about buying one online that's made of metal, which would solve the problem completely.

just the original one from valentine1 website, couldnt find anything else besides the blendamount bs thats like 90 bucks lol, ridiculous, im thinking about fabricating one myself
Thats a sweet place for the concealed display, I just moved mine to the right of the steering column so now I can see it ...i just ordered leds for my front footwells and rear footwells
Nice install. Mine is a "fake" hardwire. Mine is connected to the cig adapter in the cubby under the radio. I ran the RJ cable through the top headliner, down the passenger A-pillar, across the glove box/dashboard, into the little hole on the side of cubby.
I suggest getting the concealed display adapter modded to change the color of the LED. It definitely comes in handy at night. With all those red LEDs and black label, its hard to see where the LED is coming from. At night, I can see the LEDs without taking my eyes off the road. You can also listen to the beep that the V1 gives off for each band but then whats the point of having a concealed display?
Laser - Blue
KA - Red
K - Orange
X - Green
I don't use X as its not used anymore in many of the states. K is used sometimes but not a real thread. KA is what my state uses most so that is red. They use laser sometimes but rarely so I put that as blue. I sent mine out to have it done. They replaced the LED and scratched off the red on the circle. You can even modify the signal strength. Green for low signal, orange or yellow for medium and red for high.
This is my BlendMount
and this is how my setup looks like
I was going to put my concealed display either on steering column or in front of instrument panel but I don't like sticking things considering during the summer heat, it will melt the adhesive. So I used a cellphone vent mount. Easy for me to see and still hard for people to see.
You can get $10 off the BlendMount, if you pay the full $90 up front, snap pics of it mounted and than send it to BM. But damn, $90? I dont remember it being that expensive when I got mine (mine is the old version). I remember it being like $40-50. I even got a discount on it for being the first to review for the Camry. I actually like the new style and its pivoting hinge.

I have the Blendmount in my Denali and it is awesome. No worries about the suction cups losing suction and a nice clean install. was a bit pricey. When I bought it I think I paid around 50 bucks for it.
Hi everybody
I see alot of you searching for a place to install the remote display, So i decide to build an electronic project to send the data of valentine 1 to Nokia mobile via bluetooth.
In this case you can put valentine 1 at any place in the car and connect my device with 12v source to it and you can see all data of V1 in your mobile with bluetooth.
Do you find this interesting and worth to build ????
Actually iphone has a product called "Radar Active", i am looking for a software in python ( Nokia symbian ) but i think i can do it in java too.
I didn't work before with Android but i think it can be done easier than java because it is linux.
Right now i success in acquiring V1 data to microcontroller, 2nd step is bluetooth module.
Hey do u think that will work!!
It can be done with Just Nokia Mobile with GPS built-in
Actually i thought before about that to turn valentine one to be as escort passport and theoritically i can do it but the connected mobile in that case must be nokia with GPS built-in and using Symbian operating system.
Its hard to deal with GPS in Java.
I can make it in nokia mobile with a list contains X & Y coordinations of
K-band not radar places, so when we reach near a bank with a K-band door opener, the mobile's display will do nothing but how about the beeps sound from V1 itself ????? I don't have an idea yet to shutt it off.........
If any one of you guys can share with any help, it will be great.
