Gen5 Camry 2005 radio

Hi there.
I am from Azerbaijan and got a Gen5 Camry from US. The problem is FM radio's tuning step is 200 kHz and does not catch even frequencies. Radio is TOYOTA 16860, 86120-AA160, FUJITSU TEN Corp. make.

So questions are,
1. does anybody know how to change US searching mode to EU (100 kHz step)
2. maybe somebody have EU tuner radio for Gen5. I know it sounds stupid, but anyway.

Thanks a lot beforehand for answering.

Ouch, I dare say you are out of luck with your existing unit. I suspect it will either have different firmware or a jumper setting for tuning mode. You could crack it open and see if there are any markings on the pcb but I doubt it.

The gen 5 uses the standard Toyota dash cutout, so you can interchange most Toyota head units from the last ten years or so. I'm running a 6 cd changer/ aux in/ bluetooth unit from a 2009 Hilux SR5. If you get a unit from Australia it will have 100KHz FM spacing and 9KHz AM spacing, with the volume knob on the right.

That said, any aftermarket 1DIN or 2DIN headunit will bolt straight in, you can easily get the fill in side panels and a pocket to suit.

Thanks for reply. There are not any jumper settings inside the unit. I have already taken apart. Even i have wrote to the vendor of the player, which is Fujitsu Ten Corp. They said, no, nothing you can do. It is a pity.
