2GR-FE Engine & Exhaust note mods

Hey guys its been a while... I finally bought some new wheels for my Camry which was the single largest modification Im probably going to do with my 07 SE V6, I figure I might as well finish the rest to get it perfect and I can enjoy it while I have it, hopefully till I become old and (magnetic) grey. It will be an awesome daily driver to hopefully either a 3000GT VR4, Supra, or FT-86 in the years to come. Im not really looking to modify it too much because I like the car as is for the most part, handling and appearance upgrades are the start (my Stage 1) which are what the debadging, Tinted tail lights and windows and now the new 18 inch wheels with 245mm wide tires are for. (BTW thanks sniperkitten! 2007 Camry Ksport Kontrol Pro Coilovers PICS I finally found an awesome deal for those exact rims 3 years later! but in 18 which is exactly what I wanted too!) Oh and my Daytime LED headlight mod which is still a work in progress Sorry guys for leaving you hanging lol!! but I see you guys have made some progress without me in the meantime lol I suppose it was inevitable cuz it was a pretty fresh idea 3 yrs ago :P Ive had some progress tho but I definitely have some catching up to do!

So stage 2 for me is going to focus mainly on the sound, I want to get a nice deep low growl and any horsepower gains would be bonus. I feel getting the right sound will increase my enjoyment of the car exponentially over hp gains. So to me the obvious ones are the intake and exhaust, those are the biggest, then the smaller mods I feel are modifying the precats, testpipe, vaccum mod. For this Im looking to budget around 600 on whatever gets me the best sound first and power second. Im obviously not looking for some fartcan civic type noise, I want that deep mean growl from my V6 and hopefully I dont have to break the bank on just an exhaust system.

Stage 3 if I have the spare cash would be the final stage, lowering springs or coilovers and rear sway bar and I should be done.

TRD! it's the only manufacturer that makes catback.

Unless u go custom catback piping. Piping gets more HP gain than the actual mufflers sadly..

Borla has an exhaust for the V6 too. The question is whether you specifically want an OEM part or aftermarket.

Here's my borla. Paid 250 for it from Clearwater toyota in Florida. Had it shipped to my house. Bolts on in 20 minutes. And then 25 bucks to get the resonator cut out.

Thanks for the comments.

$250 + $25, now thats what I'm talking about, too bad I'm at work I can't see/hear the video till I get home.

Are you pretty satisfied with the sound? I'm sure it must sound even better in person. Also whats the approx hp gains?

As for OEM vs aftermarket, whichever is cheapest most likely, TRD just seems a little overpriced, are there any other good mods that will improve the engine/exhaust sound? Hopefully without breaking the bank.
