Power Windows Won't Roll Down and Other Headaches

Greetings,

I have a few questions. I hope someone can help out. I have a 2007 Camry SE V-6. It was involved in a front left collision. I picked it up today from a toyota collision shop. On my way home, the power windows worked. When I parked the car and got back in it a few hours later, the windows did not work. I moved the gear shift, took the key out, pressed/depressed the window lock button. No luck. Drove the car home attempting to roll down the windows the entire trip -no luck. When I got home, I turned the car off, then turned switch to on but not running, and the windows rolled down. Any ideas? Also, during my drive home the car was sluggish. I did not notice this when I picked it up earlier from body shop but then again, I was traveling in heavy traffic.

I was told by a Toyota technician that if you disconnect the battery, it will reset any program updates to the transmission and there is a chance it would mess up the injectors because of carbon build up. Does anyone know if this is true? Any ideas on the sluggishness?

Thanks, Dude

I dont think by disonnecting the battery your going to lose the updates because they should be stored already in you computer. If he was right then nobody would change out there battery for the fear of losing data. I just dont buy into his advise on this. I think that you should have the car looked at again since it is most likely covered by a warrenty since it was just fixed. The car could be simply just relearning its parameters or you could have a problem with a ground somewhere. If your not happy with who repaired it, and are questioning the repairs. Then I would call my insurance company and explain to them the problem. They would want it checked over again for any missed items. I had a car at one time that really should have been totaled after my accident. But it was not and they put it back together. Funny thing was that afterwards I had other problems arise and we fould out it was due to some shortcuts taken when they had fixed it. Just one of my experiences being 38 years of life thus far...
