Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
2008 I4- has anyone tried to remove that needlessly huge, lunchbox-looking resonator in front of the air box? I see it's molded into the snorkel- but- if you remove it, you also remove that section of the snorkel(only clips into the rest of the tube).
I guess you could Dremel the resonator out and stick a rubber pipe cap on the hole?
Everything I searched had to do with CAI's or removing the V6 lower resonator. This is why I suspect that I'm in "unchartered territory"

How did you do it? I'm also taking off the other two mini-resonators on the intake tube. Hoping for a little more noise without buying an intake, hard to tell when to shift b/c it's such a quiet motor. also- do we have the lower resonator that the V6 guys are always taking out?

Another question, has any one crack the lunch box open in front of the air box, and remove the resonator or what ever inside, then just leave the empty box along with the snorkel connected back to the air box.
There for it will suck cold air directly to the Air box.

remove the two bolts holding the intake to the front of the car right behind the grille and pull toward the front, It's gonna come right off. You can't take anything else out.
ugh, that's what I was afraid of because it defeats the purpose of the fresh air snorkel. Guess I'll take the whole thing out, Dremel off the box, then cap off the hole left behind somehow. It looks like I should be able to cook my lunch in it or something.
