Gen5 Camry 04 I4 M.I.L. P2238

My 04 Camry just gave me another check engine light; P2238 O2 Sensor Positive Current Control Circuit Low. This is the second time i've gotten the light. No one has told me how to fix it. I am getting Poor Gas Mileage (280 to 320 miles on a Full Tank) and a rough idle in drive and reverse. Sometimes it feels like its going to stall (around 480 - 500 RPM's). I didn't want to spend 150 for an O2 Sensor or 200 on a MAF and it not get fixed. I see a bunch of people with the problem and no solution. What should i do?

There is a procedure for testing the sensor outlined in the factory service manual (basically measure the resistance of the heater circuit). The gen 5 is getting on a bit now, so it's very common for the 02 sensor to fail, the poor fuel economy is a fair indication it's stuffed too.

If it were me I'd just replace it, they're essentially a consumable part.
