5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey guys I recently made a thread about which tires to get on the car and it got me thinking, so I made this thread. To sum up, I have an 07 Camry LE and everything is stock so far. It came with fogs, spoiler, tints, and window visors. So this car is not really my own car yet, its more like a family car that my parents use as well. Since I have ugly steelies I wanted to put rims on them and I was wondering about any suggestions? Here are the conditions: I cannot lower it since my dad is using it also and he doesn't the look. So basically I need rims that won't require me to lower the car or do anything to it. I really don't mind if they are alloys off another car. As long as it looks good. I am not looking for something too expensive. My tire size is 215/60R/16, does this mean I would have to change my tires also? I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks
You can get 16" Camry alloys (the XLE's come with them), and you could probably keep your current tires. I don't know what the exact specs are on the rim, but I'm sure someone here does. If not, you can call the dealership to find out. As long as your new rims are the same specs, you can use your current tires. Keep in mind, you'll probably have to pay for a TPMS rebuilt kit.
I am shopping for new 18's and am looking at Discount Tire's in house brand, MB Motoring. Glancing at 16" rims, you're going to start at about $80 each, which isn't too bad.
yeah I was thinking about getting the Camry alloys
but then I saw the Lexus rims thread and it caught my eyes :P
I am still shopping around, any suggestions as to where I can shop online?
if I decided to go with 17 inch or 18 inch rims that means I can just change the tires right without lowering it or anything?
If you go any bigger then 16 you'll need new tires. I have my 4 2010 17 inch SE rims with Toyo tires sitting in my bedroom collecting dust. One has some curb rash. Pm me if your interested.

BlackCamSE I pm'd you
another question guys,
what should I be looking for when I am shopping for rims other than the size which is either gonna be 16 inches or 17 inches or even 18 if that is possible?
by the way, if I am going to get 17 or 18 inches, I am gonna try to get them with tires
In general, size, width, and offsets. Used, make sure they are not cracked. Since your buying a set w/tires make sure the tires don't have bubbles forming around the tire seal and no stress cracks. Basically, use your common sense when purchasing a second hand set of wheels.
