Headlight problems!! help!!

Hi guys,Heres the thing long story short i bought cheap bulb and it burnt my oem headlight.so it burnt the hole where you input the bulbs. So i went and bought a ccfl headlights and took the oem ones and left it in my garage.I bought a hid kit with the ccfl headlights but once i installed it while driving i can barely see the lights.ive seen picture of you guys camry with the light so defined and intense mine i can barely see a few feet.Is not not leveled i turned it counterclock wise to lower it but still the same.Is it somthing wrong with the wires after the bulb burnt? or what?but either way i plan to begin a project as ive researched on here and found a few retro projects.should i buy the tsx projector?but is it simple the screws line up? http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...products_id=61
thanks guys. im driving with my highbeams and even though i bought halogen bulb and it still the same.

How did you burn your OEM headlights by buying cheap bulbs? Did you install them wrong or something? You should have just bought OEM headlights again. I heard those CCFL headlights have crappy output. As for the retro projects you are talking about it requires more then just lining up the screws. lol. It requires a little bit of time, knowledge, and research to do a retrofit...

i wouldnt be suprised if the wire harness for the low beams is toast..... u can try running the low beam HIDs with a relay kit..... it will draw the power from the battery instead of the fried headlight harness and you should get a bit more brightness

TSX projectors are good..... thats what i have retro'd in stock housings..... only issue with them is alotta times they have a slight flare issue on the right side but it's not extreme

I hope you saved your original headlights. buy some stock projectors off of someone from the forum. What you gotta do is use an oven to open up your headlights .. then u just screw the newly purchased stock projectors back in.

the stock projectors are somewhat separate from the headlight housing.. so hopefully your housings didn't get damaged as well

If u want an upgrade.. u can look at the HID projectors for mdx and solaras.. but good luck finding those If u can get'em they're pretty much screw-in and much better than stock camry projectors since they're made for HID (they use d2s bulbs I think)

Try taking a pic of those lights against the fence for us w/o the high beams

and btw.. aftermarket ccfl headlights are known for having crappy output.. you're better off putting an HID kit in your stock camry projectors

I thought u were already running 4300k hids in your lows. that means you have a ballast for both headlights already as well as h11 hid bulbs?

I'm under the impression that TSX projectors suck - I have no personal experience with them, but all the experts I trust (on HIDP) say that they're way overpriced for what they're capable of. I CAN tell u that a neighbor's tsx was completely out-shined by my rx330 crappy custom-shield tho.. but I do not know the age of their bulbs or anything.. we were just driving in the same direction.

If you already have a 4300k hid kit in your car, blowing another 200 bux on a second hid kit isn't gonan do you any good.

it'd help if u can post a pic of your burnt stuff too btw

RX AFS Retrofit Progress(56K no no!)

take a look at pawel's thread and take note at how the projectors come out of the housing. Then tell me what's burnt and what isn't. If your projectors are the only thign that got cooked, they're you're in luck b/c u have a perfectly healthy housing.

this is all the info I can share w/ retros.. there are others that know a lot more - i'm sure they can chime in shortly
ease of camry installation:
Solara > MDX > mh1 > RX330

Mine are rx330 customshields + Mh1 for high beam. I use my fogs as drl/high beam as well.. so I have dual lows and dual highs if I want

or you can wait for the famous s2k-rs that aren't out yet... but u might see blizzard come out w/ diablo3 before u see s2k-rs

well.. take a pic of your ballast for me XD or link me to your kit. I'm betting they're 9006 connectors on'em. If it's the typical cheap chinese stuff, u take the wire that goes in to your ballasts and plug that in to the harness. then the harness has its own connector that plugs in to the ballast. You do this on the other side as well.. and then u have a red and black, which typically just hook up to the battery.

depends how much work or how much money u want to spend... or how good you want those lights to be... since you have two housings already, I'd try a retrofit - sounds like u want really good lighting...

rx330s are cheaper than tsx but require work to get'em better. Once u modify the shields, they rival the $300+ s2000s which means they totally pwn the tsxs

mdx and solara HIDs are screw-ins. I've never bothered looking for them so I don't know cost

stock camry projectors are screw in of course.. and a lot of ppl put hid kits in those... I did that once...

mh1 are easy to install in to the high beams.. it requires some dremeling to make the hole better.. and then they're screw-in...

Looks like that relay harness will work. the blue one goes to your stock wire, the (1) and (2) go to the ballasts, and then the remaining two wires go to the battery. Or the black can go to another ground..
I have my doubts that it'll improve lighting, but it's certainly a good thing to use to protect your stock wires from getting damaged.
