Can I use synthetic engine oil in a 2008 Camry 4 cyl ?

Hi,

My question is can I use syntetic oil in 2008 Camry with 4 cylinder ? Reason I am asking I had a 2000 Galant and it eat all of the syntetic in a month. Same with my 1998 Civic, all the syntetic was gone in one month....
Any input appreciated.

I do. Just keep in mind, once you go synthetic you can never go back to regular oil.

Synthetic isn't black. It's GOLD! Unless you go Purple! Which i did.

Keep in mind also Syn is almost twice the price.

sorry brah, this is not true...

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=499177

subarus are different, I understand, but it's not like there are magical ingredients in synthetic that NEED to be there or bad stuff happens. oil is oil...

that said, I'd never switch back when I'd only save about $5-10 per change, she loves mobil 1

going back will ruin the seals, that's why you're not supposed to go back to regular after using synthetic, because synthetic is thiner oil.

Both oils are made from crude oil. I have used Mobil I in Toyotas and Hondas since it became available in the US about 1978. Never saw any excessive oil consumption in any of them. I'd use Mobil I with a good oil filter and change both twice a year.

I'm switching from Mobil 1 to Royal Purple. I am doing it tomorrow as a matter of fact!

You really need to read up on the facts of motor oil. Not one thing you said about oil is true.

I find it comical that I've taken 2 cars past the 400K mark on the odometer - another past 325K and the youngest pushing 275K using plain/jane conventional motor oil.

Waste your $$$ if you like.

oil is oil imo, as long as you change it every 3k miles or 6 months theres really no reason to switch to full synthetic.
