Gen5 2005 Gen 5 Engine Sounds Like Lawnmower

On the postive note, it is great not to have a car note anymore, but on the negative note, boy, a new car sure is nice to have by this time.

My engine sounds like a lawnmower, I think if i change the spark plugs, clean the EFI, PCV, oil, tranny fluid, and air filter, this should make this sound go away?

thanks mate:

well, sort of sounds like you can hear the engine as if it has low oil, but it doesnt. like louder than average, bumping sound, low shake, low vibration, but dont think it is the wheels. 120K miles on the engine. i will change the plugs, oil, pcv, filter, and put some new tires on the front with new balance, and new stuts on the front. then see how it feels and sounds.

Is the sound like a rattle? Or does it sound like it's actually a mechanical issue? Cuz there's many things that could be loose or rattling that will make it sound like a lawnmower.

Around the same mileage for my car, but it was a 2003, I had a couple engine mounts that were broken. One on top and one down below. So you should be able to check those easily. Check the chunk of rubber and see if it's falling apart

have the cylinders checked. You might have lost one of them, I've had it happen before.

Going down the road, and all of a sudden it sounded a lot like a 2-stroke dirt bike because of the exhaust I had. Come to find out the engine was running on 3 of the 4 cylinders.

Thank you Brothers for your kind feedback. good advice given here. this sound is like a two stroke engine. lol. at high speed like 80 mph, it does not feel right. like a struggle. I will follow your tips here and get a good check up at the garage soon.
