04 car - 03 engine - what 02 sensor?

I have an 04 Camry, Japan build, 2.4L with a recently replaced engine which is an 03 US built. Within a couple miles of leaving the garage the check engine light came on. It was diagnosed as code P0032 with several options, I was told the front O2 sensor was bad. I replaced with a universal unit by "Replacement" USOS-4000 (mfg). The color code was not exact, one on the 03 engine had 2 blk, 1 blu, and one white, the new unit had two white, 1 blk, and 1 grey. I connected the two white to the two black, the blu to the blk and the white to the gray. This was based on the gray and white being grd and the blu and blk being signal. I now have the check engine light with two codes, P2230 "positive current circuit high and P2252 Negative current control circuit low.
Further looking tells me that the 03 Fed unit takes a different sensor than the 04 Japan build. I'm guessing the garage used the sensor that came with the 03 engine, maybe not compatible with the 04 computer system. Also the new O2 sensor I installed was listed for both 03 & 04 but I question if it will really work properly. At this point I not sure If I should invest in a high priced 04 sensor, and it will not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Well after no help from the NATION , I moved on and contacted Denso, they kindly replied and recommeded Denso #234-9041. So I purchased one, it's amazing the dollars that can be saved by a little internet shopping. I saved over $60.00 online versus the local auto supply store. The new Denso unit worked like a champ .
