What would be the best way of removing this? Its a GPS mounting pad but I dont know if I can use Goo Gone or if I should use something else that wont damage the dash.
Had a Garmin mount on my old car I just sold to by my new Camry. I used a heat gun I used (sparingly) but a hair dryer might work too. Garmin uses 2 kinds of pads. One they call temporary and another they call permanent. Mine had the temporary and easily came off with a little heat. Then there was a bit of sticky left which a dab of goo-off took right up. I think the permanant ones come up a lot harder.
BTW, after several years my tan dash was a slightly different color under the GPS holder once it was removed.
Try a hair dryer or a heat gun on low settings while prying.. or wait until a hot summer day. When the adhesive heats up, it begins to soften and will make peeling it off much easier.
yeah you will definitely need heat to remove that, or to make it easier.
If you dont have a heat gun, you should invest in one, they are so god damn useful !
Yeah, a hair dryer or a good hot day would do the trick, try rubbing/rolling motions on it first. In plant we use a citrus cleaner on the IP to get anything off, beyond that it's repainted.
