Aftermarket Stereo

New to the forum and just bought my Camry about 2 weeks ago. Got rid of my p.o.s. 08 accord coupe. Just wanted to start a thread about what aftermarket stereo people on here have installed. I have already pulled the entire interior out and put a dynamat alternative on the floor, doors and the trunk. I ran a 0 gauge wire to the back to power my kicker ZX750.1 sub amp wired in parallel at 2 ohms to 2 JL W3 10" subs and a kicker ZX350.4 that runs at 2 ohms pushing 90x4. I see that alot of people have run 6.5 components in the front but I am looking at putting some Infinity Kappa 693.3L 6x9's that run at 2 ohms. I have read on here that it will require a speaker adapter. My question is does anyone know what the mounting depth on the front doors are and what will the clearance be. And if the mounting depth is an issue with such a large speaker in the front, would I be able to run a depth extender that they sell on sonicelectronix.com that raises the top mounting depth from anywhere from 1/2" to 1". I plan on keeping everything looking stock. I like stealth, so I don't want to do any custom fab work on the doors if I don't have to. Thanks for the help and any advice in advance

Also, I am doing all of the work myself, and am gonna take pics of the entire process so minus the sound dampening so that other's can have a step by step reference for how to do their own stereo instead of paying someone else a ridiculous amount to do it. It only took me maybe an hour to install my 0 gauge to the trunk and the 2 ground wires.

Damn, really???? I'm trying to make a thread that will eventually become a step by step instruction with pics on how to properly install a professional aftermarket sound system. Has no one done anything to their stereo or just not want to share? I would like to know what all I will need before I start so that I don't have to take the doors and dash apart 3 or 4 times an so that I can hurry up and put my trunk back together. Any info would be nice

Then a couple questions. Are the speaker adapters necessary and if so, why? Did toyota put some retarded screw holes in the stock locations? With running 6x9 front door speakers, will I need a depth extender? Cause like I said, I can't find anywhere on the stock se camry what the mounting depth is. The infinity speakers I want has a mounting depth of 3 1/2". And what dash kit did you get? I am gonna be doing a double din DVD like yours, pioneer also. But I've seen a ton of different dash kits ranging from 30 to 100 bucks. But never specifies for what model or whether it's the stock stereo or the jbl system.

I got the Metra-dash kit off of ebay, theirs another one the scosche one but i perfer the metra kit because the color is closer to the stock dash. I have a 09 le with just stock stereo no jbl.

You will need speaker adapters which i got off ebay or you can make your own as some people do. I bought them off of ebay, a guy makes them and they fit perfectly.

Front

Rear

I also bought these speaker wiring so can just plug these into the stock speaker clips.

here's my cardomain link, so you can look at the kit installed with the double din.

just by buying those things, it made my installation more simpler and saved some time.

Do you by chance know the mounting depth of the front doors? Or how deep are your front components?

I just came across your thread, don't know if you've gone ahead with the job or not.

I just got my Infinity Kappa 60.9 (6.5") components in the mail today. I'll try and get some measurements and pictures for you when I get the door panel's off. Expect an update by the weekend.
