Lets Talk TRD Springs for 07+ real quick

Hello All,

I am not new to the car scene per-say. My old car I Supercharged and Lowered etc.
However here is my question, before the Camry i was pretty damn low. My main concern is Mid-west winter and ramps. My old car tended to rub on ramps and i would become a snow plow during winter.

Have you guys experienced with the TRD springs any kind of major negatives (not referring to ride comfort etc) when it comes to being able to fit over certain speed bumps, parking structures, roads etc.

Second question is regards struts. In most cases I have had to replace the stock struts with aftermarket ones when lowering the car . Based on what i have been seeing it doesn't seem like the case in the Camry se?

Thank you

Edit: I should point out i have a 2007 Camry SE with the V6

Gen 6 Suspension Thread(coils, spring, strut bar, sway bar,....)

everything you need to know...i had to read it too before i decided to lower my car on H&R Springs i just also used the stock struts.. People on here hates the TRD springs due to the uneven drop, they lean towards H&R or Tein springs. Also most people on here have coilovers.

I have read that information and replys.

Interesting you say uneven drop hmm. In regards to Coilovers I am reviewing the options. So fare i am leaning towards the Megan racing. It does not seem like all coilovers provide OEM right height if desired.

Which coilovers provide adjustment to oem height if desired? and experiences with the different setups will be appreciated

Hey Fire //

I'm lowered on H&R and love the drop. I got an even 1.5" inch drop. Before I could get 2 fingers in the gap (insert joke here) and now the gap is closed. It's perfect seeing as I didn't want the car to be slammed due to Minnesota winters and pot-holes.

Haven't had any issues, on steep banks, driveways etc ... I approach from an angle, even when I've forgotten and have driven "as-is" I have zero issues.

I've been hearing from multiple people, those as well from unbiased stand points, that Eibach is dominating the market right now. I'm pretty much set on getting them. The SE (which I have like you, V6) comes lower than the LE + a bigger wheel size so the 1" front drop and 1.4" rear drop would look sexy on the whip especially with the 20's I'm going to be putting on it. I can't believe how good the lowering suspension is for benefits such as cornering and improved aerodynamics. Check this out:

Here's my ride with Eibach springs (same as TRD). No problems on speedbumps, driveway, etc. I even ran over railroad tracks too fast like an offroad today. No bottoming out, etc. either.

i dont understand why people hate on the TRD drop i think its a great drop. 1 inch in front and 1.4 in back for and even drop because the car sits higher in the back so it makes ur car look leveled for a nicer look.

Alright i have reviewed all the possible options for coilover system. I think the Tein and BC Racing are the two companys i am mainly interested in.

Here is my important question: Which Adjustable Coil-over setup available on the market allows for almost to OEM height adjustment. In my experience most coil-overs i have gotten were shorter in size to begin with,

I put my BC's on double the OEM height on accident the first time I installed. You don't have anything to worry about. You can go 4x4 status or frame on ground if you want. I did the latter on accident the second time I adjusted them. Didn't get too far since the place had speedbumps...

Lol nice. Thank you for the information that is exactly what i was looking for.

Since your a BC Owner i have a question in line of ride quality and product. How do the bcs compare in harshness to say LE or SE suspension? Generally i dont drive dumped however i want to have the adjust-ability to go back to OEM height for certain purposes.

edit: I am seeing
BC Racing C-17RM for 1300 - nevermind i think this is the inverted model. I wonder if that is really worth any kind of investment.
and
BC Racing C-17 for 1000

after going though bc site i cant find a explanation for difference. Also did you have to reuse stock strut mount or was a camber adjustable once included? I know the bc is suppose to have spring rate of 6F/3R

I'm probably the worst person to ask on harshness. I didn't keep my suspension stock enough to let it settle in (Teins at 5k), etc. I haven't put them at soft setting since I'm too low for it either haha. It feels like a brand new car's suspension though when its at my current setting of 18clicks front, 21 clicks rear.

As for the models, I bought mine off CircuitMS on Club Lexus since I'm a member there. Shoot them a PM and they will take good care of you. Just mention my name to them

I used the mounts BC provided. Fronts have camber plate, rears are fixed. Spring rates are 6/4. Also, rebuilds are easy, so that is another plus for BC

They sent me a faulty one on accident. Emailed, exchanged stories about it, diagnosed issues, then they sent me a 2 new shock bodies from Taiwan in 2 days. Super fast shipping for sure. Rebuilding was literally unscrewing the old shock body and putting in the new one in
