07 camry se V6 - body noises, creaking, buzz sound
I just got this car a few weeks ago with 88000km. The first day I used it, I noticed the body was making a creaking sound that appeared to come from the rear. After several hours of investigation with my mechanic (removing back seats and riding around in the trunk), I had to give up and get the dealer to look. It took them 7 hours @85$/hr to find a bad weld between "the front apron to cowl side member". The only reason they were able to find this was because it's been happening on brand new factory deliveries. Hopefully this will help someone else solve this really really irritating sound! They also had to tighten all the screws on the moonroof which they said were probably not tightened properly at the factory because there was no way they should be that loose.
Also, an irritating steering column buzz sound was solved by changing to a redesigned check valve in the brake system. 50$ part. Toyota is aware of this problem and has a service bulletin.
