E-brake wire for dvd install

I have a 2005 camry and installed a new indash dvd/radio. Everything works fine except the dvd. I do not wish to mod it with switch or relay. I cannot locate the e-brake hot wire to tie the green wire into so the dvd works when we are stopped. Is it behind the dash somewhere or will have to fish it through the center console?

Check on the ebrake it self, and around that area, i would assume there to be a wire coming from the ebrake.

What kind of unit is it ? Do you need to do certain steps for it to make sure your in park? Like the alpine units where you must touch the brake pedal and pull the ebrake?

If not just ground the wire. Just dont turn the video portion on while driving :P

x2 just ground ebrake wire works like a charm. Ive done it to all my indash install and works everytime, if that doesn't work just go on ebay and look for a relay wiring its not a mod all you have to do is connect 3 wires.

y dnt u want to use a relay? its the easiest thing possible, plus no switches or holes to cut, its automatic, jus hook ground and remote turn on to it and it will trick the unit into thinkin u set ur parking brake, unless ur using a higher end screen like z-120bt or somethin where u gotta move the mute wire a pin over and connect it to the parking brake wire and then ground it

but as far as the e-brake wire, it will b on the ebrake itself, theres only one wire so u cnt mess up

I had to move the mute wire on my wiring harness over one spot, and ground it, to get my Avic-D3 to play DVD's while driving...

different units have different ways of bypassing, just look it up..
