How many miles do you have on your Camry/Solara?

I have a 2004 Solara SE 4cyl with 140,000 miles on it. My wife and I are expecting a kid in September and can't decide on what to do (keep the Solara with no payments, or get a Rav4 with no payments).

Anywho...what do you have?

Congrats.. We are expecting a kid in 2 weeks. I was in you situation 5 months ago. From what I learned, I think go with the RAV4.

I had a 06 solara and sold it. It has 47K miles when I sold it.
We still have the 08 camry hybrid (bought new and now have around 58K miles). So far, I installed the car seat and put the travel system stroller in the camry and seems to fit just fine.

Solara on the other hand, it was not a good car for child seat. Long doors did not help in tight parking spot, especially when you need to crawl to the back seat and put the baby there. Having to fold the front seat and crawl to the back before you can put the rear facing child seat is a big pain. Also all the friends are telling me that we might have to change diaper in the car... ... fold the front seat, crawl to the back and change diaper... no thank you....

Having 4 doors is a must for us. Don't get me wrong, the solara is a wonderful car but I think having a 4 doors vehicle is a big plus. I loved the solara and never used the back seat.

Once you have kids, especially newborns ... 2drs are out of the question unless u wana deal with the hassle of puttin that baby in the back seat through the front

'02 Camry 192K miles. I agree with laphan and 7sickZ0 that 4 doors is the only way to go with a newborn.

2011 Camry SE. 3800 miles.
My husband has two kids, ages 3 and 4, from a previous marriage. Before we had the Camry and our 2000 Maxima, 130k, we both had Sunfire coupes and a Mustang. We didn't mind putting kids in the backseat of a two door car, it wasn't that big of a deal, even when the younger one was a baby still. But I agree that having a 4 door is SO MUCH EASIER!!!!!
