Camry rubbing sound

My wife owns a 2007 Toyota Camry, a couple weeks ago she noticed a faint sound coming from underneath her car. the sound keeps getting worse. i drove the car and it sounds faintly like driving over a grate or like a rubbing sound. it makes it on some turns and when starting to accelerate. has anyone heard of this or know what it might be?

Does it get louder or worse when driving faster? Is there any vibration in the steering wheel?

It actually is louder the slower you go, i guess just because the road noise is less. It happens at random, i can't get it to happen consistantly. I thought at first my power steering had air in it, but it happens without turning sometimes. Also it doesn't seem to affect steering or performance, it's just noisy.

i think i know what your talking about. I had this happen to me before but im lowered on coilovers, not sure if yours is.

I still to this day am not sure what was making the sound, but im almost positive is had something to do with the sway bar end link. It sort of doesnt make sense but all i did was take my wheels off and tighten the nuts on the sway bar end links.

Maybe this can lead you in the direction towards a solution...
