Carbon Fiber Hood and Trunk

I tried searching the forum for these answers but couldn't find anything.

Has anyone Bought Carbon Creations Carbon Fiber Hood Or Trunk?

I'm thinking about getting the CF hood, not sure what type (oem, gt, etc.) and the CF Trunk. i want to Eliminate as much weight from the car as possible.
i already removed the spare tire... not sure what else i'd be able to remove with out major demolition... any ideas?

But mainly trying to figure out how the fit and finish are on the CF hood and CF trunk. Anyone done this?

and if this is a repeat question im sorry and you can delete.

Thanks for all the help!

arent thsoe CF hoods just fiber glass ones with the CF weave ontop ?
And if you want to remove weight, start with your back seat, every panel, speakers, etc etc. Pretty much anything that isnt used for the car to function properly is fair game.

According to the website they are 70% lighter then OEM. So my assumption is that they were the real deal? Maybe I am wrong? Anyone know?
Carid.com is where I found them listed.

From What I understand wet carbon fiber is just fiberglass wrapped in 1 or more carbon fiber sheets and dry carbon fiber is multiple sheets of carbon fiber layered and shaped into its own molding. So if it's dry carbon fiber it has all of the characteristics that carbon fiber should (light weight, strength, etc), but if it's wet carbon fiber it only as light as the fiberglass that it's on and not much stronger.

hmmm. well i guess im kinda surprised that not many people have or had Carbon fiber hoods or trunks on the camry. i'd imagine less weight = better gas mileage and would match good with my black car. also less weight would make the car a lil faster?

thanks i didn't realize there were two different kinds of CF. guess I'll start doing research and asking body shops what their opinions are.

Most people consider the Camry to be strictly a family car and like the car as it comes so most modifications that most people do are minor. Plus most people incorporate a carbon fiber hood with show cars or ricers, depending on who you're talking to. Also companies that make carbon fiber hoods usually recommend using hood pins to insure your hood doesn't hit your windshield at highway speeds and personally I don't like the look of many hood pins. I guess if you weigh the cost that it would cost to properly take care of if vs the benefit of having less weight it's not worth it to the majority of the population. Otherwise you would see more CF hoods more often on regular street cars.
