Gen5 Camry ecu wiring identification

Hello
A mate is installing a 1mz-fe into his offroader , he picked up an engine loom and ecu from a wrecker who said it was a 1999 from a camry . After asking in the gen 4 forum I have been unable to match the ecu to anything .

I took the part number of the ecu to the dealer and they said it was out of a acv30 ( maybe acu30 ) camry from aug 2002 to 2006 . So I purchased a workshop manual online for a 2003-2006 camry . Annoyingly the wiring diagrams say they are 2002 , I figured this may be ok as the model was out for a while in 2002 .

However the ecu I have only has 4 plugs on it and the diagram shows 5 , grrr . Does anyone know if this model camry has 4 or 5 plugs ? This is starting to do my head in finding the right diagram .

Will try and attach a pic of the ecu .

Thanks
Chris

uh, the main thing im wondering about is the ACV30 has the 2AZ-FE i4

MCV30 is the 1MZ-FE v6. maybe its the wrong ecu for the engine?

THe wiring is all plugged onto the v6 engine and auto so would hope that is ok . If it is the 2az ecu the diagram still says it has 5 plugs .

I need to know if a 2003 -2006 has 4 or 5 plugs . Anyone have any idea ?

Cheers
Chris

Well making progress , I will post here in case someone else ever has this issue ( not likely )
Back to toyota today , the ecu is off a Australian spec manual trans 1mz-fe from 2002-2006 and current , mcv36 . Makes sence of sort as we are next door to them . So the workshop manual I brought from Australia should have had the diagrams , so will go back to them .

Will go back and look at the engine again but it does not look like the wiring has been removed and refitted and likewise the auto does not look like it has been off . A wrecker would be too lazy to bolt all the little bits and pieces back into place and everything is intact . The mystery depends .

Having a manual ecu is good for us as I need to manually control the auto anyway , provided I can get it running . And hopefully a low spec manual car never had the immobilizer ( yeh wishful thinking I know ) . The hassle could be an old engine and new ecu , ie the engine is wasted spark .

Anyone know if the 2003-2006 are direct ignition or wasted spark ?

Cheers
Chris
