5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
ok so im ordering the fx-r bi-xenon, blazers, and 6k morimoto HIDS for both for my retrofit on my '11 LE. ive been searching around on the forum and nobody has really done any posts on retrofits on 2010-11 camrys.so my questions are...
1. the fx-r look to b the best projector out there (i kno theyre bi-xenon, i want them to be) as far as output, cut off line and least amount of shadows/dark areas....has anyone installed these on a gen 6.5 yet?? either way ill be taking pics of the DIY
2. has anyone installed any blazers on their gen 6.5 yet? i have the cheap ebay projectors i was goin to chop up and use as the holders for the blazers unless someone else has a better idea...
3. any particular high quality paint i need to use to paint the chrome shroud?? i want it flat black, but i dnt want it to end up flaking as time goes by
this is my first retro fit EVER lol but ive done custom car audio/electronics for years b4 this until i graduated from college so im pretty excited about this...
1) Many people will agree with me that TL is the best bi-xenon projector all around. Though the lense in gen 6.5 is 3'', compared to 2.5'' in gen 6, I think the housing volume is probably not much different, so I wonder if you can fit these projectors in because they are fairly big. Besides, I think if you want more light, just go 55W with single-xenon since you'll be able to see further, instead of brighter around you, which I don't think is good since our Camries are not so high like a SUV or a truck.

tru, i do want to see further, cuz i can see good around me as of right now... but ive seen pictures of the output from the fx-r (which was made for retro-fitting) and to me it just seems to look better than the pictures of the TL, then again ive never seen them in person...
have you opened headlight yet?
I'm curious too what would fit.
got friend who wants 11' retro too, but I'm not planning to use bi-xenon projectors, even stock high beams are great.
I used TSX and MDX projectors in past. by my opinion they better chose than bi-xenon, plus you can modify shield.
got 11' headlight in garage for testing, just don't have time to open it.

i think there's like 2 guys on here with 6.5's retrofits but i can't recall who or what thread it was in. You could also go over to hidplanet.com too and ask questions since over there is basically about retrofits.

Just stay with Phillip 4300K or 5000K matching bulbs. Also get OEM ballasts.

the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) automatically controls the headlight lighting pattern according to steering angle and vehicle speed to help provide better visibility at night.
When u do a retrofit u wil not get the same feature though. Also ur prob referring to the afs rx330 projectors right?
