Headlight question

So I finally got around to installing my HIDs the look great and a lot of improvement over the stock bulbs but I got a question. Every time I lock or unlock the car the headlights will turn on and off after a few seconds.
Can these cause damage to the Ballasts or bulbs?
is there a way to avoid the low beams from turning on and off every time you lock or unlock the car?

BTW I have a relay that takes power directly from the battery for the HIDs
