Tire Advice for 17" SE Rims..

I did do some researching and found mixed reviews of course haha just wanted to make my own thread to get updated results maybe. Looking for some new tires im kinda picky and i like a nice tread and sidewall. So far im leaning towards the Falken 912s but i read they get loud over 40% of wear.
Any advice is appreciated just keep in mind i like a nice tread/sidewall.
Tire size is 225/50R17

Thanks guys!

I just put on some Continental ExtremeContact DW tires in the same size, and they give a pretty good initial impression.

I've been using Yokohama Avid Envigor V-rated for almost a year now and I'm fairly content with them. Dry and wet traction is great; it's way better than OEM. According to Tirerack, these are high performance which is what Falken rates their 912s also. I would assume that performance will be similar.

The Avid Envigors have also resulted in slightly better gas mileage compared to stock by about 1 MPG so the low rolling resistance claim seems valid. You experience may differ depending on the tires you currently run.

For just getting around in my daily driver, the Avid Envigors are fine. For spirited driving, there are definitely higher performance tires, but to be honest, they would be wasted on me; not to mention they'd cost more to operate due to shorter life and increased rolling resistance.

I currently have the Falken 912s can it's a very good tire for the money. I can't really say much for road noise since the road here will make every tire roar. But it's not a choppy noise. But I will say the 912s have just as good traction in the wet and dry as my pervious Protenza Pole Position (which I got only 14K with good alignment) and the 912's balances better too. The tires I have are the 65 series so your 50 series choice might be louder but that normal for lower profile tire.
