Can You Guys here the engine running when sitting inside your car?

Hey guys, Sitting in your car with the engine on.. Can you guys here it or is it nice and quiet?? My engine seems to be pretty loud now.. an annoying loud.. like a putter noise

Mine is I4, and I don't hear an annoying loud from the engine. I hear the engine noise very little, enough to let me know it is running.

Actually I'm glad I can hear my engine because then I know that it is here. If it weren't here then I couldn't hear it which would be an indication that it wasn't here and I would wonder where I had lost it.

I can hear my engine, just enough to know it's on. Mine is a bit louder than most because of my Borla exhaust though.

I don't hear anything from the inside, especially when all my windows are closed. It is very nice and quiet. I don't even know the engine is running if not looking at the dash.

I do have exhaust and intake but I can only hear them during take offs and fades away as I get to cruising speed, back to my nice and quiet life.

I have the V6, but it's still nice and quiet as it's still fairly new. My '07 had 70k on it's V6 and it too was quiet as well, many of times she would be running and my wife would still try to start it, oh the squeal she would let out then. Thank goodness for the push button start, I think that has put an end to that.

If it's a slow n quiet hurrrhrurrhurrhhurrhhurrh putter it could denote that it's hot and running for a while, or you need an oil change... But that's just my Camry. You could just be paranoid. hahah

It's normal. All of our V6 2GRs sound like diesels.

i've got 42,xxx miles on mine and it's fairly quiet. just enough to know it's running
