hi guys, As some of you know i hit a deer the other day and busted my bumper hood and headlight. my local body shop says 4500....how much would it REALLY cost? i haven't taken it to the dealer yet but im guessing its prolly more than the body shop.
anyone know aprox. how much it mite cost for this kinda damage?
We can't tell what damage is behind and under the hood.... So we can't really help you out.
their no damage other than the bumper light and hood. and my insurance wont cover it because i wasnt driving it my couzin was. and he told my insurance guy that ...so their not covering it.
I'd say 4500 is around the right price, new hood, fender, bumper headlight... with paint and labour.....
nope....his dumb@$$ does not have insurance....but i just called my toyota dealer n the lady told me 355 for a head light then she looked up my VIN # and realized who is was , b'cuz the whole town like knows me (i work at my dads beer wholesale) and shes like i can give it to for 270. thats their cost price...so im thinking if i take it to the dealer they could give me a better deal than the body shop guy...but still my new car mannnnnn
You should try different reliable body shops to note what they say. My dealer never does body shop, or I will take my car in for the whole front bumper to be re-painted.
Next time, it's best to not let anyone drive your car but you.
Not many dealerships does body work. They usually have a contract with a body shop. So if you drop it off to them, they'll have the car towed to the body shop and they'll do the repairs. Once done, they'll bring it back to the dealership.
Same goes for tinting. They either take it to the place or the tinter comes to the dealership. Pinstripping cars, the guy usually comes to dealership and does it on the spot.

Most dealerships have a paint shop but thats about all.
If you go to a reputable body shop, you can tell them you want OEM parts. If anything, you can take it to the shop and bring the main parts to them and have them install it since you get a discount. So bring them headlights, hood and bumper to them. Let them install that. Whatever miscellaneous item the shop gets on their own and you pay them for the labor.
But the dealership will definitely be sending your car to a shop to have it repaired. The shop will probably get the parts supplied to them by the dealership.
Personally, when it comes to external parts, I don't care if its OEM. No one will know and so as long my car is looking new again. Say for instance, you get into an accident again, it would need to get replaced. Not to mention, OEM parts cost more money.
im not sure about in the states, but even though your cousin doesnt have insurance, your car is covered under your policy right? As long as you give him permission to drive the car your insurance should be covering it ?
When I hit a rim that skidded across the highway in front of me last fall doing this:
My total was $2,428.00 for a new radiator support, new front bumper cover, new foglight assembly, new front fender liner, remanufactured wheel, and new lower grille, as well as paint and labor, A/C recharge after removing the system/radiator, fluids, balancing, and an alignment. I did not need a new hood, headlight, or upper rad support though. That's going to bump the price up quite a bit.
DAMnnnnn.......i prolly need a radiator support too...but im rolly looking at like 3000 bux with all parts and labor. im gonna order a new hood and bumer tmrw ive already ordered a headlight assembly.....fixin cars gets expensive.....and yes idk the hell my couzin told the insurance dude he was drivin....i didnt tell him not to say ne thing but next time i should tell him to stfu lol
