5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hello, just thought I'd introduce myself here. I've been lurking around for a while in the scion area, but recently traded my '06 tC in on a '11 Camry SE. I originally wanted to get a blue SE, but they didnt have one on the lot without leather. Ended up with a Silver SE I4 Auto with SE1 package, JBL, and the mats. It actually was still wrapped up and only had 3 miles on it. I forgot my camara, so I had them leave everything as it was inside until I could snap some pics, but the kid who took it back for the exterior was "couldn't drive it with the wrap on"...yet I just went on a 10 mile test drive with it...sigh. Oh well, here are a couple pictures. I dont have anything planned for it really mainly just a daily driver/road traveler. Definitely need some better headlights(if not hids), fog lights, clear bra, and probably black out the chrome trim...I hate chrome.
The joke is my fiance's family has mostly gen5 Camry's or Toyota pickups and now my fiance is telling everyone that I'm not a descendant anymore (for those who dont get it, scion pretty much means descendant, which is what it is to Toyota)
So far so good. Got it late Friday night, and as of late last night I've already put 120 miles on it. Only thing I have to complain about at the moment is the shifting of the transmission. I'm a pretty relaxed/conservative driver so the transmission will shift early and have to downshift a few times, but once the car gets used to me, and I get used to it, that will go away. My fiance has an '05 SE and I have to say they almost hit the nail on the head as far as improving the old one, yet keeping the good. I really like this one.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm pretty happy with the car. Very happy I should say. No manual for this one with the fiance. That plus I have a '90 Talon for a play toy to row through the gears. I got it for 21.9 without paying for "nitrogen" in the tires, and pinstriping. Told them they could suck the nitrogen out and I'll bring a compressor to put air in it for that price haha.
I am definitely going to be doing LED's in the interior lights/trunk. The light output on this car is sad all the way around, inside and out.
