Blown Head Gasket/Stripped head bolts.

Hey,

Recently I had a customer come in with a 2003 Camry with the 4 cylinder for an overheating problem. I found all the rear headbolts pulled the threads out of the block. This is a known issue with this motor, toyota refused to do anything about it. The dealer quoted him $5500 for a new motor installed. I decided to experiment on the motor. I machined the motor in the car, and installed "Timesert" thread inserts where the orig. headbolt threads pulled out. The headbolts torqued up great and the car has been back to daily driver for over a month now.
It cost him $2100 To do the entire job, Parts/Labor/Prep/Machining. If you need your block repaired, or know someone who does, please contact me.

The problem is very well known on this board and the remedy. I believe if you need to advertise, you need to contact the admin. By now, this thread will be deleted or modded.
