2007 Camry SE Recirculate issue.

I've tried doing a search on this to see if it was already addressed but all i could seem to find was people annoyed about how short the recirculation time is.

Basically I can't get the recirculation to come on i press the button and it doesn't light up. I of course turn on the ac or fan. Tried under hot or cold and even the middle. It just recently happened. I figured it's mainly do to the fact that I added a short air intake with a K&N filter and i guess the system isn't registering it right? It's not the one recommended for the car but it works. The intake adapter for the MAF sensor doesn't fit because it was meant for a 2004 corolla. so me and my friend just taped it down trying to insure that no extra air comes in, but it's air so it's bound to get in.

So is it the air intake that's causing this? or it might be something else? if so i'll put everything back to stock until i can get something better.

i'll post a pic later if that's needed.

Dont have it set to the defroster do ya? If it is on defroster, it wont turn on.

I know I had the opposite problem with mine being set on "Max A/C" where recirc stays on. I was used to the others without the Max A/C setting and having to manually turn recirc on.

^ I used to hate that. With A/C turn all the way it will go into defrost, recirculate air get switch to outside air, and the RPM also jump up due to the A/C turning ON. I didn't want A/C, I just didn't want the heat to be ON.

I did think something was wrong too.

the LED for the light could be burnt out..... try this: turn the fan on high, selector on face vents, and temp on cool..... run for a few secs then press the recirc button.... if u listen to the dash on the passenger side u shud notice the airflow sounds a bit louder if its working
