5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just got a near brand new 2007 Toyota Camry LE as a gift. It has 10k miles on it and has been garaged since it was bought new from the dealer so it has never even seen snow. I'm looking to see what mods are available for it's 2.4 litre 4 cyl engine. I don't know much about modified Toyotas (yet) but I would like find a turbo/intercooler , ported cylinder head , exhaust and intake for my car. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Have any of you done some nice mods to your Camrys ? I'd like to know what works best. Thanks.

I don't know if you caught this but I'M NEW HERE. Maybe you could tell me where exactly I can find this info. Or I could just search the forum for a few hours on my own.
There is a "Search" feature on the top right of the main Gen 5 and 6 forum. Just type in keywords etc.
As far as the turbo, it has been done. There isn't much HP gains and it is very very costly and not practical at all. You'll go from a 25-30mpg car to like 10mpg. And easily put 10 grand into the turbo. You can get just as much power from a V6 (i know you got the car as a gift and you didn't have a choice).
Otherwise not very many performance mods out there. Even the intake and exhaust doesn't give you any gains (even though you will read ppl saying they do... They don't)
You can lower it, put rims, etc. Just look around the forum there is a Picture thread at the top of the forum you can get ideas from there.
Have fun Modding.
And ignore the flamers telling you to search. No one seems to help the new members here and flame them for asking simple questions intsead of actually wanting to help. If you have more questions feel free to PM me (click my maybe and "send private message")

Thanks a million for the info on the 4 cyl Camry. And thanks for the support too. I was just curious about any go-fast goodies that may be available. No big deal. I wish I had the V6 but beggers can't be choosers I suppose. I appreciate your offer on any Camry questions I may have. Thanks again. Also , do you own a modified Camry ?
I have an 02 SE V6 (the white one in my sig pic) I don't have a thread or pics posted of it, i took them all down. But if you are interested in it i can PM pics etc. I also have a 2010 XLE V6 All stock White as well.
Welcome! I just bought a 2007 Camry LE a week ago. So far, all I have done is a K&N Air Intake (Part Number 33-2370 incase your interested). As far as more mods nothing engine wise for me probably just exterior. Some ideas for u to think about: tint, grille, wheels & tires, fog lights, decals, springs or coilovers, replace your HU for a nav/dvd/mp3 unit, etc. Theres some great projects people have done on here so just search either going through the threads or the search function. A ton of great info and a lot of DIY things too. Again welcome and congrats on your new car.

Thanks for the welcome. I will definitely check out the K&N intake for my car. I'm thinking about gun metal gray rims (or black) since my car is black. I will prob beef up the rubber too with 225 or 235 wide tires. I'm curious about a catback exhaust system too. My investigation will commence shortly.
In my eyes, it sounds beautiful. Enough grumble for people to turn and look and wonder how a Camry could sound so good
Once you hit 4000-5000 rpms, she's a screamin eagle!
