Gen5 Quick Update on My 2002 Turbo Camry

Hello to everyone here in the Nation. Its been a while since I have been on here. Lots of upgrades and additions to my car from the last time I was on here. For starters I did an engine swap from my old 02 engine to a 2008 Scion TC 2AZ-FE. I now went from 550cc injectors to 775cc injectors. Upgraded High Flow Fuel Rail. Greddy Oil Catch Can. Visor Screens on the inside and 2 Screens in my trunk along with a lightning plate embedded in my floor that shoots lightning through it when the bass hits. I got rid of the heavy chrome 20s and now sporting light weight 19" Konig Unknowns wrapped with Nitto Extreme ZR tires. Dynoed it 2 months ago at 337whp with 347wtq. Still doing the car show thing in which I took home 1st at Hot Import Nights for best Toyota. I also have video of me racing my buddys Corvette in which I beat him twice in the quarter with a run time of 12.9. Beleive me I wasnt expecting to win but he had a bad launch the first race and he missed 3 gear the second race. But hey. A win is a win. LOL. So here are a few pics of the new engine, inside, trunk and car itself. Enjoy. Toyotas For Life.

Yeah bro it drives me crazy as well. Now to install my coilovers now that those heavy big oversized 20s are gone. I couldnt lower it before because of tire rub. Now im in the clear. I am still in Savannah, GA. But i hit up shows and tracks from FL to NC.

Thumbs up

MORE info on the motor build!!! I would LOVE to build and turbo mine cuz its got a 5-speed...

who built the motor? forged pistons/rods? any headwork?

also, what turbo are you running? I was thinking if I built the motor, a GT30R would be

also, it looks like you have an automatic.. i assume its gotta be built too, what about LSD?

ONE last question.. what are you using to tune the car? As expensive as they are, I think it'd be worth it to get AEM standalone, my buddy had one on his gt30r/straight cut gear'd WRX, car was sick!

props for having the guts to build a camry!! I kno the support is there for the 2AZ, just gotta pull the trigger!!!

LOL I had some baller wheels on there before but they where just to heavy for my setup. That is if you are talking about chrome. I like the look of the Konig Unknowns. Nitto's are not cheap as well. But thanks for the comments to you and everyone. Lots of people thought I was pushing the envelope on trying to build a Camry. I like to think outside the box. Im happy with how it turned out.

Ballistic motorsports did the turbo install and tuning. No internals changed out yet. Thats next on list after tranny swap.

Also, what turbo are you running? I was thinking if i built the motor, a gt30r would be
Im running dezod motorsports t3/t4 stage 2 turbo

also, it looks like you have an automatic.. I assume its gotta be built too, what about lsd?
Yes its an automatic and yes i had it rebuilt to handle 400hp. No lsd. Will save that for the manual.

One last question.. What are you using to tune the car? As expensive as they are, i think it'd be worth it to get aem standalone, my buddy had one on his gt30r/straight cut gear'd wrx, car was sick!
Im tuned using the greddy emanage ultimate. Standalone is the way to go but i would loose to much of my comfort accessories. Gotta have ac here in ga. Lol.

Props for having the guts to build a camry!! I kno the support is there for the 2az, just gotta pull the trigger!!!
thanks for the props. We sport the same engine as the tc so my kit is a tc kit. I had to add 2 inches of piping to the intercooler piping on both sides and it mounted up perfectly. Im addicted to the quarter mile now. Once im done with the 5speed swap then i can build the internals for more power. Im running at 14psi right now from the 10psi i ran on my old engine.
