Short visors

Are there visor extensions you can buy aftermarket, or am I missing something when I flip the visors to the side to block east and west sun?

Sun visor issues

I would think this has been covered. My LS430 has a visor that extends on the rail to block east and west sun when I recline my seat. My old Accord had a plastic insert that extended from the stationary visor.

It appears to me my wifes new 09 hybrid, similar to the non hybrid does not have a slider or such to block the sun? Any aftermarket gizmo's. Seems like poor engineering or am I missing something.

you will be much better off doing 2 things:

1. installing window visors; a) they block some of the sun at specific angle; b) you can crack windows open and let fresh air in driving thus quite well substituting for a/c, and this is noticeable saving

2. tint all windows. i have done it about a month ago and what a difference does it do on the inside temperature! i also ran a strip on the windshield, as it is so much slanted back, that heat is pouring in through it.

my total cost on this was shy of $200.

Let me ask a different way, do others have problems with no visor extension for east and west sun when you turn your visor to cover the top of the drivers window?

Thank you I will look into those options. What a poor design though, just a simple slider like I see on most other cars is to much to ask for a 25k auto?

Not on a regular basis, but occasionally (since I am a bit short, 5'6'') I will have an issue not having a visor extension. At that point I resort to adjusting my seat position enough to block the sun again.

However, since I have gotten my windows tinted, it's not as bad as before.

I HAD VERY PLEASING CHANGE IN MINE AFTER DONE.

sorry, forgot caps. there are also clamp on extensions, as a cheap alternative.

on a sarcastic note, Buicks have very nice extensions on visors.

Sarcasm, ha ha, I guess it is just me but it is the only car in my 51 years of living without this simple cheap "luxury". My luxury Ls430 has sliding side visors and all the creature comforts just to make driving easier. Window tints maybe for Texas or Florida but not Wisconsin. Those cheap plastic things forget it. Anyway guess it is not a problem for others so thats why it is what it is.

Lexus LS430 Toyota quality, Camry stamped put mediocrity, but kinda still best in its class. What does a sliding visor cost? thanks Warm

On a side note- in-channel window visors may damage tint, beware.

My solution is that we put a visor CD case that clamps onto the visor via velcro straps.

We just slide it out when we need sun coverage.
When not slid out, it stores neatly behind the visor.

You can get a thule one from Marshall for about $8 that will flip up to allow you to use the visor mirror too.

I am sure this is a less costly & more effective solution than any OEM parts. haha
