2005 Camry XLE Passenger Seat Belt/ Air Bag issue

My passenger seat belt warning going off even with no one in the seat all of a sudden. Additionally, even when someone does sit there, the Air Bag light does not activate saying the Air Bag will deploy. So the seat belt thinks that someone is there, but the Air Bag thinks the seat is empty. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Faulty sensor? Is there a seperate sensor for each function or is it the same sensor?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I noticed this issue on my 09 SE, it works and it doesn't randomly. I am not sure what is going on.

they are 2 different sensors..... i would make sure nothing is under the seat.... also since its an xle i think that seat has power controls, try adjusting the seat bottom angle and see if tht makes a difference

That worked! Slid the seat forward and tweaked the angle a touch. Bingo, airbag came on and no more dinging from seat belt when I got out. I'm thinking that maybe the car seat that I added was pushing up against the back of the seat a bit and tweaking the angle or something.

Thanks!!!
