Center console won't stay closed

The center console on my hybrid won't stay closed. Anyone know of this happening, or know a fix for it? If I can fix it without going up to the dealership, it'd be nice.

have you tried emptying that whole compartment and make sure that nothing is stuck or obstructing the door? you can acutally take that whole compartment out to see what might be wrong with it, but its a good amount of work.

Yeah I've emptied it out and tried. I can get it all the way down, but whatever locks it down won't engage.

Easy fix. Pull the 2 console cover sides off. Use a phillips screwdriver and loosen the two screws. Move the entire box up a bit until you can close the box. Once the console closes put the screws back on and so forth.

Not saying you are doing the same thing I did, but, when I first bought my '10 I had the same problem. Until, I discovered it was me that was the problem. I found that I had to push the door down 'til it was just closed. If I pushed any further (have the door actually go into the cavity) it popped right back open. Think it being closed and you push it in to get it to open. I was pushing too far in and it was releasing. Now I just push it just to the closed position and it stays until I push it further in to release it.
