Any DIY for 2003 camry tranmission flush?

I have search but only see DIY for 3rd and 4th gen write up. Do I have to use a 10mm Allen (Hex) Key Wrench to drain the pan?

thanks

What size engine? Might help those who've done that year.

My 04 takes a 10mm hex bit to remove the AT drain plug. You can purchase a 1/2" drive, 10mm hex bit socket and use a breaker bar.You will need a 18mm replacement gasket for the plug. The plug torques to 36 ft lbs. You will only be able to drain out about 4 quarts of fluid because most of the fluid is in the torque converter which does not have a drain plug. Unless you have the equipment to do this maintenance, have a shop do it. A gallon of hot ATF can make a mess fast.

The transverse-mounted 4 bangers I've owned drain so much as pointed out above.

That said- I've put over 300K on 2 by draining only what comes out(usually half) -then refilling with that amt.

Some call it rotational draining.

If you drain and refill three or four times with a little driving or running time between each drain, you will be doing what the flush machines do. I put 18 quarts through my AT and the fluid looks as good as new. Regards.
